Recap of Events

It feels like a century ago when we were picked up in the middle of the night to head to the airport with all 16 of our checked bags. 13 suitcases and 3 hockey bags. Plus a stroller and car seats. For those of you who knew me before our move from Colorado, you may recall I have been on a quest to achieve a minimalist lifestyle. Let this be proof that I have yet to achieve minimalism. Many times during this move, you would have heard me or Tim say “just stick it in a hockey bag”. The things that came out of said hockey bags were mostly unnecessary but it’s all good. We made it.

We spent the first night eating more pizza (which is all we ate for the 2 weeks leading up to the move) and sleeping on a sheet on the floor. We must have been extremely exhausted and the floor must not have been all the bad, as we slept until nearly 11AM.

Lessons We Have Learned

  1. Pack less.
  2. Don’t take suitcases that don’t belong to you (we ended up with 17! The extra was returned, don’t worry).
  3. British Airways serves 2 meals during the morning flight from Boston. We needed very few snacks for the kids on the flight.
  4. Learning to drive on the opposite side of the car and road is terrifying.
  5. You cannot buy coffee creamer here.
  6. Kids are brave, awesome, and resilient.

I love the “wild wee” phrase and can picture both boys using it!
